I wish I had come up with this first. I just get all squeamish about trespassing because I do hate it when I find people on my property that should not be there.
Seriously though, each of these places have a history. And each of their histories include the further histories of people that once were. Now, most of those people are gone, forgotten themselves, and only tiny clues of who they once were are left behind.
None of this is my work. I just admire it, lust after it, dream of one day owning it and hope to promote their work so that they do more and feed my addiction to old broken things.
Hospitals that once cured the sick, hotels that once mad family vacations into happy memories, even schools that once got people ready for the next step in life. They can all be found here. Imagine the ghosts that would still haunt these places. Can you find the phone book? Too easily I picture a young woman flipping through it to find a number for someone. Now it waits for her to come back, but is she even still around to remember it?
Not too deep down I am a lover of history. Know your history, embrace it or lose yourself to what already happened. Do check it out and let me know what you think?
